A good friend just sent me this link. It captures some of my motivations to fight the rip currents, sea lice, cold air temps, leg cramps and the bloodshot eyes. It is about trying to capture a fraction of a second, for now and for ever.
I hope it moves you too. It is some damn fine filmaking.

August storms
Hurricane season really gets into gear today.
They're lined up and we should see some action by tonight. Should be plenty of juice all week, winds will be on it, but should be managable. Bring on the chunk!

R.I.P. to our little Cheyenne
08.21.10
We lost our amazing Little One. She may have been small, but her spirit was huge.
We'll miss her Big Eyes and Big Heart.
Rest well Temple Guardian, you deserve it.

summer travels
Summertime heat and humidity = long am rides and gallons of sweat and gatorade. I the love the magic of long bike rides to clear my mind. After two hours, things start to get real. There is a simple beauty in the suffering and the post-ride relief found at the bottom of a swimming pool.
I recently went to SF with the little lady to escape the heat and dust off the 4/3 suit and booties. Surf wasn't big by any means, but damn good to see David, Amber, Jomofro and RG who made the trip from La La land. Mahalo to all. Damn, I love that city and I miss riding with my crew.
Here are a few memories:
